Take a Peak:
“I remember exactly what you felt like in my arms, that night I kissed you,” he continued. “What you tasted like. The sounds you made. How you’d clutch me closer every time I tried to pull away.” She dipped her head forward, her eyes tightly closed as she remembered too. The way he felt, the sounds he made, the way he tasted. He shifted closer, his mouth—oh God his mouth— was right at her nape, his hands resting lightly on her hips. “I’m curious to see if it’s still just as good between us,” he murmured against her skin, his warm lips making her shiver.
His hands on her body and his mouth moving against her neck made her want to melt. It was going to be good. So good she would probably combust at first touch of his mouth on hers. “Turn around, Harper,” he whispered into her hair, and she opened her eyes, turning slowly so she could face him. Her knees were so wobbly she leaned against the front door so she wouldn’t fall to the ground in a boneless heap. West stepped into her personal space, his big hands braced against the door on either side of her head, his intense gaze zeroed in on her lips. “I didn’t plan on this happening tonight.”
“Plan on what happening tonight?” she asked with a slight frown. Oh God, maybe he didn’t want her after all. Maybe he was trying to let her down easy? She should’ve just left. It was complete torture, knowing he was most likely going to say something nice so he wouldn’t hurt her feelings. She held her breath, waiting for the inevitable blow.
“This.” His lids lowered as he dipped his head, his mouth landing on hers and her eyes slid closed once more, relief flooding her as she automatically reached for him, looping her arms around his neck. He didn’t touch her, his hands remained on the door, but his mouth did wondrous things. Soft and seeking, warm and damp, his lips brushed against hers once. Twice. She parted her lips beneath his the third time but he didn’t take it any deeper. No, he was slow, methodical, purposeful. Learning her, driving her out of her mind.

Weston and Harper... another romantic couple made in heaven. As usual, Weston is one hell of good looking man. As the reputation of never getting tangled with anyone, at least no for life. Left his home twon eight years ago, leaving everything and everyone he knew, behind, including young Harper, madly in love with him. Him leaving wouldn't be that bad, if it was not the fact that before he left, they both got carried away by the attraction and fell in a long and hot kissing and snuglling session. Uhu... hot, hot, hot! As expected, Harper's heart fell into pieces. Why the hell did he leave and never gave one single sign of his existence? Like she never meant anything to him. Not fair. If I was Harper I would be more furious than sad.
Eight years later, Wes comes back. This time, more mature, more manly and more responsible. His very first thought was about Harper, and she really was the firts one that he saw the minute he arrived home. Talk about coincidences, hum?
Harper is the tipical quiet girl. Works with his boring acountant boyfriend, but still keeps Weston buried deep down in her heart and mind. The moment she first saw him again? Forget about everything... she starts to question herself about all the bad decisions that she had done until that moment and she even regrets her decision to move in with Roger, her boyfriend.
I meant to give the four stars to this story, but I simply couldn't because it ended to fast and to soon. Although I loved the story and the main characters, I think that Harper changed her mind too fast. She spent eight hard years brooding that feeling of rejection caused by Wes suden departure. I guess I just wanted to see Weston suffer a little more.
The sexual descriptions are so natural and warm that it's impossible for us not to imagine them. Both Weston and Harper have had too many repressed feelings for eachother, for too many time, and when they finally gave in... it was bombastic! Love the way that he instantly felt that urge to protect her no matter what. Guess he always had had that same feeling even before he left. Maybe his fear of commitment was also one of the reasons because he left.
This story shows us that no matter the distance or time, love, when it's real and strong, will always prevail.
